Learn about our material & innovation

The future of this planet depends on how we live and the products we consume. Our goal is to create a business that is restorative and regenerative by design.

Recycled Nylon♻

Producing recycled polyester requires half the energy of virgin polyester. Since we started using the innovative ECONYL® regenerated nylon, made from waste fabrics and fishing nets removed from the oceans, we have stopped over 10 tonnes of nylon making its way to landfill.

The oceans are just one, albeit huge, reason we are working towards switching all of our current nylon to ECONYL® regenerated nylon. It elevates recycled materials to a new level by transforming waste into a resource. ECONYL® is made from carpets, waste fabric and fishing nets collected from the oceans and recycled and regenerated into a new nylon yarn that is exactly the same quality as virgin nylon. Vegan Leather🍀

Our leather alternatives do not just look good, but they are also better for the environment. Using synthetic leather instead of Brazilian calf leather, for example, creates up to 24 times less environmental impact, as calculated through the Environmental Profit and Loss (EP&L). As well as being cruel, leather’s environmental impact is incredibly high. Animal agriculture accounts for around 18% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions and is driving the destruction of our rainforests.

GOTS organic cotton🌼

Short for Global Organic Textile Standard, this certification looks at the whole textile supply chain, quite literally from field to fashion. There are two GOTS labels: if a product is to use the ‘organic,’ one, it must be made up of at least 95% natural organic fibres, grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, insecticides, or herbicides. Meanwhile, if the label states that said product is ‘madewith organic fibres’ this lowers to 70%. GOTS certification also imposes restrictions on the chemicals used in the processing phase, as well as a set of social standards to ensure basic human and labour rights are fulfilled. Learn more.

TENCEL™ Modal 🎋

TENCEL™ Modal fibers are known for being exquisitely soft and pleasant to the skin. Extracted from naturally grown beech wood by an environmentally responsible integrated pulp-to-fiber process, which is self-sufficient in energy and recovers co-products from component parts of the wood. TENCEL™ Modal fibers can be blended with other fibers to significantly improving the softness and comfort of fabrics. Learn more.

ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX®🧿

ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX® is an independent certification for chemicals, colourants and accessories used in the manufacturing of textiles and leather articles. We check that each individual substance in the chemical products meets the statutory requirements and that it is not harmful to human health. ECO PASSPORT can certify all chemical products such as textile and leather chemicals, colourants and auxiliaries as well as corresponding formulations which are used in the textile, leather and clothing industries and which meet the strict guidelines. We use sublimation ink, in other words, zero water usage printing. This sublimation transfer printing system optimizes excellent color reproducibility of the ink and increases productivity.
